Sr. Applied AI/ML Scientist (B2B)

Own production LLM features for NewsWhip by Sprout Social, working with Product/UX, improving evaluation and retrieval, and mentoring engineers. Bring at least six years building and operating production software and two years shipping real-world LLM features, plus strong backend engineering, preferably Python. Experience in several areas is required: LLM APIs/transformers, embeddings, vector databases, prompts/structured outputs, evaluation/testing and LLMOps observability. Demonstrate end-to-end ownership, architectural trade-offs, technical reviews and cross-functional delivery. A related degree, LangChain/LlamaIndex/LangGraph, MCP/tool calling, agents, semantic retrieval, cloud, media/text analytics and high-growth environments are desirable.
